Work Experience
Site Reliability Engineer (Connections)
Moneyhub
July 2023 - Present
- As a member of the Connections team, contributed to enhancing the reliability and performance of connections with banks and financial providers, including monitoring, measurements, and troubleshooting. Proactively identified and resolved weak connections, occasionally engaging with third-party providers to implement solutions. Collaborated closely with the customer support team to promptly address and fulfill user requests. Played an integral role in creating and maintaining technical documentation. Designed and deployed a Slack-integrated service to proactively alert the team of impending client certificate renewals as their expiry date approaches.
Software Engineer
PowerDMARC
February 2022 - February 2023
- Collaborated with cross-functional teams to design and deploy a DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance) solution, strengthening email security measures and preventing phishing attacks. Enhanced the functionality of the DNS resolver by implementing a retry algorithm to address server issues. Additionally, expanded the capabilities of the resolver to do DNS lookup of previously unsupported record types and their TTL values. This improvement made the tool 50% easier to use. Significantly improved email traffic report processing by optimizing the AWS (Amazon Web Services) Lambda parsers code. Achieved an 80% increase in processing efficiency through continuous monitoring, testing, and error resolution. Developed and integrated local executors and regression tests on Node.js for AWS (Amazon Web Services) Lambdas to support streamlined testing of new features. This approach significantly improved the reliability and efficiency of the development process. Enhanced the monitoring and error handling capabilities of the system by introducing a new AWS Lambda instance that sends failure statistics via email using Amazon SES (Simple Email Service). This solution enabled timely identification and resolution of critical errors, significantly reducing downtime. Played a key role in the white labeling of a product by making critical configuration changes to Route 53 (Amazon DNS). By adapting the DNS service to meet the unique needs of the project, successfully enabled seamless integration with partner systems and vastly increased the sales of the product. Implemented validation checks and ESlint standards across the entire Node.js repository. By leveraging this approach, successfully improved code quality, minimized errors, and accelerated development cycles nearly by 30%. Contributed to the growth and development of the team by participating in the interviewing process for junior-level positions for Node.js. Additionally, initialized and spearheaded knowledge-sharing events, which helped promote collaboration and fostered a culture of continuous learning.
