DEVOPS ENGINEER
BHG FINANCIAL
January 2021 - Present
- As a mid-level DevOps engineer, I have firsthand experience in establishing robust CI/CD pipelines by leveraging TeamCity and Octopus for on-premises builds and deployments. Cloud applications were implemented and deployed via Azure DevOps. I adeptly customized templates for numerous services and web servers, enabling deployment for both single and multiple instances. I created pipelines to obtain Azure key vault values using global variables, known as secrets. My role also involved implementing and automating unit testing pipelines using Snyk and code analysis within the pipelines utilizing SonarQube. Containerized applications were implemented via docker through Azure virtual machines. For consistent and repeatable deployment processes, I configured Helm charts for ArgoCD, which also deployed containerized applications, APIs, and web applications ensuring a more efficient deployment solution. I am proficient in version control using Git and problem solving. • My first year I was heavily involved in a project to move applications from a 2008 to a 2019 server utilizing automated pipelines. This project also involved moving applications from on premises server to cloud environment using Azure DevOps pipelines. • I have a strong background in DevOps, where I made significant contributions to infrastructure deployment using Terraform. My focus included enhancing container security through the configuration and updating of the Dazz security scanning tool. One of my noteworthy accomplishments involved successfully upgrading Azure DevOps (ADO) agents for Azure build pipelines (Packer Images) to use .NET 7 for code compilation. • I displayed my critical thinking skills by resolving ArgoCD deployment failures. This involved a meticulous analysis of logs, identification, and rectification of configuration discrepancies within designated Helm charts. Beyond standard Kubernetes deployments, I excel in creating Helm charts, serving as a package manager for deploying virtual machines. This ability enables me to define, install, and upgrade various Kubernetes applications, contributing to streamlined deployment processes and ensuring consistency across diverse environments. Also specialized in MongoDB, my role centers on deploying, configuring, and optimizing MongoDB databases to support scalable and high-performance applications. Leveraging Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, I automate the provisioning and scaling of MongoDB clusters, integrating these processes into robust CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment. I prioritize monitoring and performance optimization, implementing solutions like Prometheus to track metrics and address bottlenecks efficiently. Additionally, I collaborate closely with development teams, ensuring MongoDB configurations align with application requirements. Disaster recovery planning, security measures, and compliance adherence are integral parts of my responsibilities. Through detailed documentation, I provide clear insights into MongoDB configurations and processes, while ongoing capacity planning guarantees scalability to meet future demands. With a continuous learning mindset, I stay abreast of MongoDB features and best practices, contributing to a dynamic and reliable DevOps environment.
